Local context
Kedron takes its name from Kedron Brook, named by German missionaries in 1838. The suburb grew from farm lots along the brook, then filled with interwar estates in the 1920s and early post-war homes. Today 9,907 people (ABS 2021) call it home, spread across houses, townhouses and flats.
Common challenges
In February 2022, Kedron Brook destroyed sections of the Kedron Brook Bikeway, which runs through Kedron between Mitchelton and Toombul. Heavy rain like that softens soil, loosens footings and drives debris into any fence in its path. Older houses also carry decades of patched boundaries, and busy unit blocks wear out gates fast.
Why it matters
A fence that blocks water can be pushed over, and a leaning post weakens every bay next to it. At a unit block, one broken gate affects every resident and can breach a tenancy or strata duty.
Our approach
On low ground, fencing in Kedron gets open mesh, deeper concrete footings and bracing at corners and gates. At unit sites, we place gates to suit bins and parking. After a storm we inspect first and price second, so fencing in Kedron gets fixed once. If you'd sooner tackle a short run yourself, collect the fencing supplies Kedron jobs call for from our Geebung counter and ask our installers anything.
