Local context
Along the river's north bank, Pinkenba is mostly industry, with only a small cluster of homes. Shell's terminal, the former Bulwer Island refinery site, wharves and the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Luggage Point all sit along the river. The Centre for National Resilience on the former Damascus Barracks site has been used by the AFP for training since 2024.
Common challenges
Sites here face strict security standards and long perimeters, often beside water or mangroves. Salt air shortens the life of exposed steel. Razor wire and other toppings must suit local rules, and a few homes sit close to industrial boundaries. Some boundaries also face public roads or the river.
Why it matters
An intrusion at a fuel or freight site can be expensive and genuinely dangerous. A gate weaker than the fence undoes the whole perimeter. Corrosion on posts and toppings quietly reduces security over time. Long runs also mean more ground to inspect.
Our approach
We assess each site, match mesh, toppings and gates to the risk, choose coastal-grade finishes for exposed runs and stage the install. That keeps fencing in Pinkenba secure from day one. Repairs can be quoted when fencing in Pinkenba is damaged. Coastal-grade finishes go on the runs closest to the water.
