Local context
Nundah began in 1838 as the Zion Hill mission, set up by German Moravian missionaries near Kedron Brook, and the area was long called German Station. Nundah village later became the administrative centre of Toombul Shire, with shire offices on Sandgate Road. Queensland Places describes mainly interwar housing, but by 2021 flats and apartments made up most dwellings among its 13,098 residents (ABS).
Common challenges
That shift means constant infill. Older homes now sit beside new unit blocks, so boundaries change, fences get removed for construction and neighbours have to agree on what goes back. Building sites also need a safe perimeter in streets where parking and access are tight.
Why it matters
An unsecured site is a risk to the public and a liability for the builder. For the house next door, the new fence line will be there for decades. Under Queensland's dividing fence law, adjoining owners generally split the cost of a sufficient fence, so the dividing fence cost is worth agreeing in writing.
Our approach
For fencing in Nundah, we plan site gates around deliveries, fence in stages if the build needs it, and give neighbours a clear written specification for the permanent line. Our Geebung workshop keeps fencing in Nundah moving when a gate needs remaking mid-project, and trades can collect the fencing supplies Nundah sites use from the same counter.
