Local context
Between 1966 and 1986, Strathpine grew from 1,831 to 10,108 people, as developers sold blocks under the slogan "Little Aspley – that's Strathpine". Three-bedroom homes make up 58.3% of the housing, most with a driveway straight onto the street. Pine Rivers Park and schools such as Strathpine West State School are close to many homes.
Common challenges
Houses from that boom were built with single garages and open fronts, long before many families owned two or three cars. Many driveways slope toward the street, which catches swing gates. Side paths were often left open, giving anyone an easy route into the backyard. Work utes and trailers parked out front are also tempting targets.
Why it matters
Tools, bikes and vehicles sitting in the open are easy pickings. A gate that drags is soon left open for good. One unfenced side path undoes every other part of the boundary, and it lets young children and pets wander toward the road.
Our approach
We measure the drive and its fall, then recommend a sliding or swing gate to match, and we add a lockable gate to the side path. That makes fencing in Strathpine fit daily routines. Because gates are made ready for a motor, fencing in Strathpine can be upgraded later without starting again.
